The Swiss international then vanished off the tunnel and left before the end of the match Granit Xhaka was reported to have staged a one-man protest against home fans after he was substituted in Arsenal’s disappointing 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal came strong into the Premier League match following a victory over Vitoria de Guimarez only to surrender a two-goal lead to their visitors. The tough encounter against Crystal Palace saw team captain Xhaka substituted, leaving the Swiss midfielder in trouble as he was seen down the tunnel with jeers from home fans.

According to a report by Mirror UK, Xhaka was reported to have vanished from Emirates Stadium in anger before the match ended, putting his leadership in question. The report also claimed that he goaded the fans and cupped his ears shouting “f*** off” as he left the stadium. Quoting The Atheltic, the Mirror UK source further reported that it took the intervention of three senior players who went to their captain’s home to douse the anger and give him some comfort.
But when asked if Xhaka would remain, captain, Arsenal boss Unai Emery pointedly criticized the midfielder but admitted anybody is prone to mistake.
