Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, has expressed gratitude to Russians who are opposing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The President thanked Russians who “are not scared to protest” and “speak the truth” about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying he was “grateful.”
Hundreds of Russians have been detained by President Vladimir Putin’s regime for taking to the streets to demand an end to the continuing conflict in Ukraine.

“I am grateful to those Russians who do not stop attempting to relay the truth,” Zelensky said in a Telegram video posted Tuesday morning.
He hailed the Russians for resisting what he described as disinformation and had decided to stand on the side of truth and tell real facts to their friends and loved ones.
Zelensky further pointed to Maria Ovsyannikova, a Russian Television, Russia Channel One employee, who interrupted a major broadcast by holding an anti-war sign in prime time on Monday.
“NO WAR. Stop the war. Do not believe propaganda, they tell you lies here,” the sign read.
