Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Spiritual Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara to be ready for the impending political showdown with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
The warning follows a contentious exchange between Governor Fubara and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
Primate Ayodele called attention to the possible repercussions of this political dispute by drawing comparisons between Governor Fubara’s circumstances and those of Akinwunmi Ambode, the former governor of Lagos State.

Governor Fubara should prepare for obstacles on the political front, stressed the spiritual leader.
Primate Ayodele reassured Governor Fubara that he would withstand any attempts at impeachment, despite the dire predictions.
The spiritual leader emphasised that only God could guide the governor through the upcoming political tempest and advised him to seek divine help.
Primate Ayodele emphasised in a statement sent by his media assistant, Oluwatosin Osho, the importance of praying for divine guidance in Governor Fubara’s current situation.
In the statement, it was emphasised that Minister Nyesom Wike’s decisions might be influenced by divine intervention, which could change the course of events and prevent Governor Fubara from being impeached.
UPDATE: Wike Keeps Mum On Plot To Impeach Rivers Gov, Fubara
According to Ayodele, “Only God can change Wike’s mind towards Governor Sim Fubara. He should get his mind prepared that his second-term ambition will be tough. It’s going to be like the issue of former governor Akinwummi Ambode in Lagos.
“He will still face impeachment, but I see him surviving it. The house will continue to be troubled. They will make him uncomfortable and make his first term miserable, but he will survive it if he turns to God for help.”
The minister warned the governor that there would be no respite and that he should be removed from office because of moles in his camp.
“There is no amount of what he does; it is only God that can fight for him. There will be so many moles in his camp. It’s unfortunate that this is happening at a time when Fubara is willing to work.
“They won’t appreciate his efforts and they will want to mess him up. Those who are against his governorship will also add to it. The governor must be careful, put his security together, and be very prayerful,” he added.
Rivers Crisis: Fubara, PDP Elders In Closed-Door Meeting
A split developed between Wike and Fubara six months after the succession. The governor promised to thwart any attempts at impeachment of Fubara, notwithstanding the efforts of Wike’s allies in the Rivers House of Assembly.
Wike recently accused the governor of setting fire to the state House of Assembly in a statement addressing their disagreement. The governor was also called an ingrate by the minister.
