Vice President Osinbajo Holds Interactive Round Table With APC In Anambra

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka will soon become the first university in Nigeria to own independent power supply.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo announced this while addressing members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during a maiden Interactive forum between the party and Vice President Osinbajo, at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center Awka.
Delegates selected from all the wards including the twenty-one local government chairmen of the party were at the event to receive Vice President Osibanjo and the party’s National officers.
Addressing the gathering, Vice President Osinbajo explained that federal government is keen on impacting the lives of ndi Anambra, hence, its decision to site several projects among which is the construction of an independent power supply in Unizik.

He said that the work is now at an advanced stage, listing the Npower programme, school feeding programme, trader moni, construction of Enugu-Onitsha express road and second Niger bridge as parts of the projects carried out by the federal government in the state.
The Vice President urged the party faithfuls to be united, committed and focused so as to win future elections in the state.
In a rematch, a former Minister of Labour and Employment and a minister-designate, Senator Chris Ngige, appreciated the Vice President for the visit and advised the party leaders to be united and forge a common front so as to take the party to the next level.
On his part, the national chairman of the party, Chief Adams Oshomole, represented by the National Auditor of the party who also doubled as the chairman of the occasion, chief George Mogbalu said that the event was aimed at reclaiming and rebuilding the party, as they prepare for the 2021 election in Anambra state, and expressed the commitment of federal government towards completing all federal government projects in the state.
The APC governorship candidate in 2017 gubernatorial election in the state, Dr Tony Nwoye blamed the division in the party on lack of commitment and love among the party leaders, even as he called for members of the party at the grassroots to be given recognition at the federal level.
On his part, the Acting state chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike, appreciated President Buhari for the appointment two people from Anambra state as ministerial nominees and lamented that the party in the state is almost non-existent due to neglect.

Others who spoke at the event which included Chief Forte Dike, Senator Emma Anosike, Honorable Afam Obi, Comrade Olisa Onyeka among others called on the federal government to let members of the party benefit in the appointments as people form the ruling party in Nigeria.
The event featured a cultural display by the famous Mkpokiti Umunze.
