Following the removal of the blue tick from thousands of public persons’ Twitter accounts, Nigerian entrepreneur Tony Elumelu and singer Peter Okoye have responded to the loss of their verification badge.
Elon Musk followed through on his final deadline for the withdrawal of the free Blue badge on Thursday.
Those affected included Pope Francis, former President Donald Trump, musicians Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, and football player Cristiano Ronaldo.

In Nigeria, a number of celebrities, business executives, and politicians, including Wizkid, Davido, and Elumelu, have expressed amazement after waking up to find his verification badge missing.
Peter Okoye, fondly known as Mr. P, stressed the business ideology of the move from Twitter, saying “Elon Musk is a BUSINESS MAN Period!
Singer Chike, also affected by the policy, was bemused at the disappearance of his badge.
