Member representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Hon. Bede Eke has condemned the sponsored media attack on former governor Emeka Ihedioha, describing it as unwarranted and an insult to the sensibilities of the people of the constituency.
Eke, who made this known while addressing newsmen yesterday in Owerri, the Imo State capital, frowned at several media attacks and mudslinging on the person of the ousted governor by Blyden Amajirionwu, one of his benefactors and ally.
The federal lawmaker, who dismissed the purported advice by Amajirionwu calling on Ihedioha to concede defeat and congratulate Governor Hope Uzodinma as unwarranted, said the ousted governor’s application for a review of the Supreme Court’s ruling that sacked him is nothing short of exercising his fundamental right as a citizen.
He maintained that Ihedioha acted in line with the law and should be allowed to exhaust his legal options in the pursuit of his mandate freely given to him by Imolites on March 9, 2019 and upheld by both the elections petition tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
“I am solidly behind the decision of Emeka Ihedioha seeking for a review of the Supreme Court judgement as it affects Imo and I can assure you that the apex court will do justice to the matter.

“Blyden Amajirionwu is my friend and brother; I do not share his views urging Ihedioha to discontinue with the review of his case. He has the right to express his views and opinion as an individual but his opinions do not represent the position of the people of Ngor Okpala.
It is clear that he is not our elected or appointed representative at any level for now. So he is on his own and not speaking for Ngor Okpala.
“Ihedioha is our leader, friend, brother and son, we are solidly behind him in his bid seeking for justice and we shall continue to show him solidarity while the matter subsists.”
