Shehu Sani, a former senator, has urged President Bola Tinubu to put party loyalty aside and be honest with the nation about the legacy former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration left behind.
Sani argued that it was unjust to expect poor Nigerians to make sacrifices without providing them with specific information about what occurred under the previous administration.
On Saturday, the social critic posted his demands on his verified Twitter account.

“The Tinubu Government must set aside party solidarity and tell the country the truth about what they inherited as contained in the handover book. It’s unfair to ask the poor masses to make sacrifices without knowing the details of what happened under the last administration,” Sani tweeted.
Following the withdrawal of Fuel subsidies by the Tinubu administration and the ensuing increase in the price of petroleum products at the pump nationwide, he made this statement.
The Nigeria Labour Congress, or NLC, also threatened to call a statewide walkout for next Wednesday if the government did not return to the previous situation.
