Police in Jigawa State have arrested a woman for allegedly burning and dumping her newborn baby in a refuse dump.
Anaedoonline.ng had reported that a newborn baby was found dumped and burnt at a refuse dump site at Takur Quarters in Dutse Local Government Area the state. Part of her body was already consumed by fire at the dump site.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Sule Gwamna, confirmed the arrest of the mother to Anaedoonline.ng.
He explained that the woman was arrested after thorough investigation and revealed that the newborn baby was born out of wedlock.
Gwamna said she had already confessed to the charges leveled against her. She has been charged to court for prosecution.
