Governor of Ondo State Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared the dissolution of the State Executive Council in a broad move.
On January 24, 2024, the Chief Press Secretary informed Governor Ebenezer Adeniyan of the decision, which took effect right away.
All Cabinet members have been dissolved and directed to immediately turn over their responsibilities and obligations to the Permanent Secretaries or the highest ranking administrative officers in their respective offices.
Moreover, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) appointed under his administration are covered by the Governor’s decree.

They must turn over all government property that they currently own and are dismissed of their duties with immediate effect.
In his statement, Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked the impacted officials for their efforts and contributions to the state’s growth while they were in office.
Since the reasons for this sudden breakup have not been made clear, both political specialists and regular people have conjectured and discussed the causes behind it.
There are hints that Aiyedatiwa, who succeeded the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the governor of Ondo State, plans to run for governor again in 2024.
The governor of Ondo State’s decision may have little to do with his desire to become governor.
