Jibrin Barau, the senator-elect for Kano South, was elected without opposition to the position of Senate Deputy President.
His ascent came after David Umahi, the previous governor of Ebonyi State, nominated him.
Salisu Mustapha, a member-elect from Kwara North, backed the nomination.
Barau accepted the nomination and won without opposition the position of Deputy Senate President of the 10th Assembly.
The ANAEDOONLINE, on Tuesday, reports Godswill Akpabio was elected President of the Senate.
