According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Federal Government has expressed its commitment to launch new, creative methods of supporting tertiary education in the nation through the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman.
He claims that the goal is to GIVE universities the freedom to figure out how to finance their own operations.
At the NAEC in Abuja, which had as its theme “Implementation of Education 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” the minister made this admission.

President Bola Tinubu’s vision for the education sector, according to him, is in line with the conference’s discussions on student loans, developing trends in the industry, and finance for higher education.
Mamman argued that the government cannot stop the conversation about the sector until Nigeria reaches all of the targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 and beyond to education-related indicators and targets of Agenda 2060 of the African Union.
“As a signatory to the SDG 2030 and AU Agenda 2060, Nigeria must continue to demonstrate its commitment to achieving these goals through leadership and ownership of the implementation process. The education sector is one of the line sectors that ensure that planning and budgeting in the country are within the framework of the SDGs.
