The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the country’s top anti-corruption body, has reportedly called eight former ministers who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to sources, the eight former ministers have all been summoned for questioning on corruption charges.
According to insiders, the invitation letters asked former top government officials to attend and explain how they used cash granted to their ministries on specific projects when they were in power.

According to the Daily Trust, the letter was sent to the former ministers prior to the suspension of Abdulrasheed Bawa as head of the panel. The anti-corruption bureau has begun its probe.
According to the source, in addition to the former Minister of Women’s Affairs, Pauline Tallen, who was summoned last week over alleged N2 billion fraud and “part of the money allegedly diverted from the African First Lady Peace Mission Project,” roughly seven others have been summoned.
It should be noted that Sale Mamman, a former power minister under former President Buhari, was arrested and detained by the commission last month in connection with an alleged N22 billion scam involving electricity projects.
