According to announcements made by Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Administration (FCTA) has set a price of N5 million per land allocation for the issue of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O). During a Tuesday discussion with real estate developers, he declared as much.
Wike stated that after getting their land allotment, the applicants would have four months to pay the cost and receive their C of O.
Additionally, he declared that he would approach President Bola Tinubu for permission to connect the candidates’ National Identity Numbers (NINs) to their C of Os.

According to Wike, the C of O was an essential document that allowed the landowners to transact business using their property. He said that the FCTA would no longer allow the allocation of land to more than one person.
Wike said, “When we make the right decision, some people will be happy, and some will not. The rich will kick against some of our decisions, but anything that will help our people must be done.”
He gave the estate developers his word that he would make sure the FCT’s land management procedures and system were rational and well-organized.
The minister reminded them that on November 14, he had established a task team to address the recovery of land use violation costs and the issue of C of O for housing developments.
