Only a day after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted a list of 28 potential ministers to the Senate, political tensions have erupted in ten major states that have yet to receive nominees.
Leading members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in these states are said to have upped their lobbying activities.
To make their argument, some have resorted to current and past governors, presidential advisors, and others with clout over the president.

Earlier, news outlets claimed that President Tinubu’s list of candidates, which was announced on the Senate floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, had a diverse group of names.
Additional nominations are likely in the coming days, and the complete cabinet will be formed within two weeks.
Certain states, such as Lagos, Osun, Adamawa, Bayelsa, Gombe, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Yobe, and Zamfara, have yet to submit nominations. As a result, political activity and speculation have intensified.
According to the Saturday Sun, President Tinubu is dealing with a slew of opposing interests in Lagos. Former Governor Akinwumi Ambode and former Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola are thought to be among the likely nominees.
Potential nominations are being debated in other states. Despite criticism surrounding his previous views, a senior member of Tinubu’s campaign staff is regarded as a top choice in Ogun.

Internal squabbles among local political figures in Bayelsa have hindered the nomination process.
Kano’s situation is significantly more complicated. A contract may have been reached with a prior governor, but the current governor is hostile to the arrangement, resulting in conflict and negotiation.
Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the former governor of Kebbi state, is facing criticism due to his inability to gain crucial positions.
Disagreements and power disputes in states such as Kogi, Yobe, and Zamfara complicate the nomination process even further.
Notably, numerous notable campaign supporters of President Tinubu, including Festus Keyamo, appear to have been ignored in the initial list of nominations.
