Osun State High Court sitting in Ila-Orangun presided over by Justice Jide Falola, has sentenced two persons to death by hanging for armed robbery.
The convicts, Ayodeji Adeleke and Abiodun Oyedunmola were first arraigned on the 24th of May, 2019 for conspiracy and armed robbery.
Prosecution Counsel from the Ministry of Justice, Muyiwa Ogunleye, said, “the convicts on the 9th of December 2015 and the 28th of March 2016 robbed one Pastor Afolabi of his properties using a gun in Ila-Orangun.

“They also robbed Mr. Bayepade Olubunmi on the 3rd of April 2016 and One Owonifari Muiydeen was also attacked on the 14th of April 2016 in Ila using a gun.”
The prosecutor called five witnesses and tendered 11 exhibits, including a confessional statement of the convicts, a gun and two phones.
Justice Falola said the prosecution counsel proved his case beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced the convicts to life imprisonment for conspiracy, and death by hanging for armed robbery.
In another story, a father of seven children has been stoned to death by an angry mob in Uganda for allegedly stealing chicken to feed his hungry family.
The incident happened in Kamurojjo-Muro village, Serere district, in the Teso sub region of the East African country.
The deceased identified only as Emuron was accused of stealing a chicken from of one the neighbors, on Monday afternoon and residents descended on him in a furious mob attack.
According to Eastern News Network, eyewitnesses at the scene recounted Emuron wailing that ‘his children had gone days without food.’
