Due to the illness of two important party secretaries, the petition of the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, could not be heard this morning.
At the resumed hearing of the case, Awa Kalu, counsel for Obi and the LP, announced this. He requested that the meeting be continued on June 1.
Abubakar Mahmoud, one of the INEC’s attorneys, indicated that although he did not object to the request for an adjournment, it should be noted that the party had lost the opportunity to call witnesses by one day.

Wole Olanikpekun and Lateef Fagbemi, attorneys for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), also did not object to the adjournment.
The hearing on their case was then postponed until June 1 by the five-member justice panel presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani.
Lawrence Nwakaeti, a lawyer, was the first witness the Labour Party called.
The party still needs to call 49 witnesses, while the PDP has submitted all of its materials to the court but has not yet called a witness.
