President Bola Tinubu has named Tope Fasua, the CEO of Global Analytics Consulting, to the position of Special Adviser on Economic Affairs in the Vice President’s office.
Fasua published information about the situation on his X account on Friday night.
Fasua wrote, “So, yours truly has been appointed Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs in the VP’s office. Just what I wanted for national impact. We thank God Almighty and those who remembered me and insisted. For God and country.”
Fasua, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, graduated first in his economics class in 1991 from the Ondo State University.
From the London Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, he earned his second degree in Financial Markets & Derivatives. In 1992, he began his work with the now-defunct Citizens Bank.
Later on, he worked for Equatorial Trust Bank and Standard Trust Bank, where he eventually advanced to the post of Principal Manager/Regional Director in Abuja.
Fasua is a frequent economics and financial markets analyst on television and has an executive education certificate from Harvard University and a PhD in public administration.

He organised a group of Nigerians to join the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party in 2016, and the party chose him to run for president in the general elections of 2019.
