A photo has emerged of a gate that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has erected at the boundary between Rivers State and Abia State.
The gate is intended to prevent potential violators of the lock-down policy of the state government from gaining access into the state
Since instituting the lockdown policy, the Rivers State Government has arrested countless people who entered the state through neighbouring Abia State in breach of Rivers borders closure order to check Corona Virus.
Days ago, Wike ordered the auctioning of the cattle and the two trucks. The truck had 14 persons hidden in them. He came in from Adamawa State.

The Governor recently revealed that security personnel deployed to enforce the directive at different locations in the state have allegedly turned their duty posts to revenue-generating points, where they extort motorists and other travellers at will.
In a State Broadcast on April 27, Governor Wike announced a complete lockdown that will starts from Tuesday 28 April 2020, till further notice.
In mid-April, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura, visited the borders between Rivers State and other states.
The unscheduled visit was to address police officers at the borders. He asked security agents deployed to the border to stop the extortion as alleged against them.
