Ishioma Ordu, the superintendent of a filling station, has admitted to planning a robbery attack at his old place of employment in order to steal N6.8 million.
Before his suspension, Ordu, a 48-year-old native of Delta State’s Oshimil North Local Government Area, worked as a supervisor at the petrol station next to Benin-Agbor Road in Benin City.
The Edo State Police claims that Ordu is accountable for looting his former workplace and fatally killing his supervisory coworker, Eze Emmanuel.

He has refuted this claim, however he does acknowledge planning to rob the petrol station with two other people who are still at large after being treated unfairly by the proprietor.
The Edo police command paraded Ordu, who admitted to planning the robbery attack but said he told the thieves not to harm anyone.
According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, Ordu, who talked at the police headquarters, acknowledged planning the theft after his director fired him without paying his N80,000 salary for the month.
He said: “I have been working at the petrol filling station for about three years. Towards the end of last July, I beat up a girl who was a petrol attendant at the station.
“My director suspended me and refused to pay me that month. Even when I sent text messages to beg him, he didn’t respond. The next thing I heard was that he had travelled abroad. That is what gave me the mind to do that act.

“I sent some people to go and rob the station. I told them not to kill anybody, but unfortunately, they killed my co-supervisor in the process.
“I told them when BEDC turn off the light, the supervisor will come out to turn on the generator. I told them to track him and collect the money immediately. I told them not to go beyond the generator house because armed policemen guiding the station are there.”
However, it was discovered that on September 11, 2023, around 12:43 in the morning, the thieves killed the supervisor and stole N6.8 million from the fuel retail business.
Ordu went on to say that the money was split that night in an undeveloped area nearby to the petrol station after the successful heist operation.
The suspect, who was detained in Lagos, acknowledged collecting more than N4 million of the robbery’s N6.8 million in cash.
