Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has provided an update on his administration’s talks with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Soludo said in an appearance on Arise TV on Tuesday that talks with the proscribed group are ongoing to remedy the state’s weekly compulsory stay-at-home policy.
The former Central Bank Governor stated that the stay-at-home order will be phased out shortly, and that his government is committed to restoring peace and order to the country.

“Discussions are ongoing,” he stated. My first meeting, as I stated in my inauguration address, was on security. So I’ve been properly briefed, the conversations are ongoing, and I’m certain that we’ll crack it. It won’t be done in one day, but we’ll get it done.
“The sit-at-home thing will surely come to an end, and we are holding meetings with all stakeholders, including IPOB and others, in order to involve everyone.” At the end of the day, it will be the people’s power that triumphs.
“And I’m confident that this will come to an end, and we’re working on it.” As I already stated, we are committed to restoring law and order.”
Meanwhile, Soludo has revealed the debt left behind by the immediate past governor of the state, Willie Obiano.

Soludo while speaking during the interview said his predecessor left ₦300 million cash and a debt of over ₦400 billion as of December 2021.
The governor further stated that other financial details from January to date is not available.
He, however, noted that the details will be made available as soon as possible because they’re public documents.
