It was a shocking day as a man identified as James Ugwoke, an indigene of Ikwerre local government of Rivers State sexually harassed his 16 years old cousin Jane Madoka.
According to reports, in the early hours of Saturday morning 25th April 2020, the alleged rapist made a visit to his uncle’s house, Jane’s dad to deliver some palm fruits. On reaching the house his uncle and his wife had already gone to the farm leaving their only child Jane at home. Jane who was in the bathroom having her bath noticed someone was peeping on her, when she asked who was there James said he had come to deliver the palm fruits her dad requested.

In her statement, she said when she came out of the bathroom, In a shocking move, he forced himself on her, she tried resisting but he eventually overpowered her. She also revealed that James has been making advances at her for sometime now but she never expected it would result to this.
James who is currently facing charges on Rape was arrested Early hours of Monday morning 27th April 2020. He also tried committing suicide when the news of his deed went viral in the community.
Ikwerre Police Commander, said what James has done is a criminal offense and he will face the full wrath of the law.
