Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s special assistant for digital media, has made fun of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, for claiming he must be Nigeria’s president.
Peter Obi said on Friday (today), according to prior news reports, that he is not in a rush to become the president of Nigeria.
This was said by the former governor of Anambra State during the Awka, the state’s capital, launch of the book “Peter Obi: Many Voices, One Perspective,” which was written in his honor.

Recall that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, and other presidential candidates are currently contesting INEC’s (the Independent National Electoral Commission) declaration that Tinubu won the election on February 25 in court.
Obi, though, stated on Friday that he was not in a rush to succeed the African Giant’s current leader. Obi expressed certainty that he will lead Nigeria at some point in the future.
He said: “Anyone who thinks I’m on transit is wasting his time. Let me tell you, I must be the president of this country. I’m sure of that. If it is not today, it must be tomorrow.”
Reacting via his Twitter page, Bashir mocked Peter Obi while describing the statement as an extreme joke.
