President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has explained why the National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressive Congress, APC will not be witnessed by the party’s National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the aide in a recent tweet on his microblogging account on Twitter, Tinubu will not be in attendance at the Thursday, June 25 NEC meeting scheduled to hold at the Aso Rock Villa because he is not a member of the council.
JUST IN: President Buhari To Attend Giadom APC NEC Meeting
Anaedoonline.com recalls that the deputy national secretary of APC, Victor Giadom has earlier picked Aso Rock Villa as the venue for the APC National Executive Committee meeting. However, Giadom’s notification did not get down well with members of the national working committee, NWC, loyal to the former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, as they stated that Eta Hilliard, vice-chairman south-south, would act on behalf of the elected leader who is currently laying on a hospital bed.
Speaking on Tinubu’s participation at the NEC meeting, Bashir took to his twitter handle to say, “There are some people who need to know that the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party, hence, he doesn’t attend the NEC Meetings. This is very clear!”
Meanwhile, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Waziri Bulama, has described the National Executive Committee (NEC) called by Victor Giadom as illegal.
