A 26-year-old man named Sunday Adesina was charged by the Ekiti State Police Command on Monday with allegedly stealing a neighbor’s tricycle battery.
The defendant is accused of stealing a tricycle battery on August 11 at around 11:50 a.m. on Omi-Olori Street in Ado-Ekiti, according to police prosecutor ASP Celeb Leramo.
The battery belonged to one Ajayi Olaniyi and was worth at N22,000, according to Leramo, who also stated that the offense was punishable under Sections 295 and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Defendant’s attorney, Emmanuel Sunmonu, pleaded with the court to grant his client release, claiming that the defendant would not skip bail and would offer reliable surety.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Saka Afunso, granted the defendant bail of N25,000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to August 17, for a hearing.
