The speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila on Thursday swore in four recently elected lawmakers.
The lawmakers were elected from Sokoto, Ogun, Imo and Akwa Ibom State during National Assembly rerun elections held in the states on Saturday, January 25.
The newly sworn-in lawmakers are Abubakar Abdullahi Ahmed of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Sokoto State. Kolapo Osunsanya of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.
Nsikak Ekong and Jerry Alagbaoso of the PDP from Akwa Ibom State and Imo State were also among the lawmakers sworn-in during the plenary session.
The inauguration is coming following their victory in the rerun elections held by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the weekend in their respective states.
Gbajabiamila after congratulating the four lawmakeres urged them to justify the trust entrusted to them by their people who voted them in.

The speaker also urged other lawmakers to move motion and bills that will not only benefit their constituents but the nation atlarge.
he reassured Nigerians that the 9th assembly will live up to expectation. He called on citizens to never give up on the country stating that better days are ahead.
