Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president, stormed the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja on Thursday to observe the ongoing hearing of his lawsuit challenging the results of the 2023 election.
Akin Osuntokun, the Director-General of the LP Presidential Campaign Council, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Julius Abure, and other party officials were seated in court beside Obi.
Additionally, Dudu Manuga, the LP’s national women’s leader, and other party leaders were seen in the Court of Appeal’s courtroom.

The petitioners are anticipated to resume the witness and document submissions as evidence in their petition against the designation of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
Recall that on Tuesday, the party filed a lawsuit to contest the results of the 2023 presidential election after the tribunal said that the trial in the petition would conclude on August 5.
The court scheduled three hours for the resumed hearings to hear the petition submitted by the LP and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The petitioners’ attorney, Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), had stated that they would be presenting 50 witnesses when the five-person panel ordered the party and Obi to summon the first witness.
