The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has commended the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano for his outstanding contributions towards ensuring a hitch-free service year for Corps Members posted to the State.
The DG who was responding to a presentation by Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Hon Afam Mbanefo noted that Governor Willie Obiano pays allowances, takes care of our Corps Members and currently building one of the best Orientation Camps in the Federation saying “He deserves this special recognition… Please send our regards to him.”
Earlier, in his presentation, Hon Mbanefo enumerated the different avenues through which the welfare of Corps Members are protected in Anambra State while reiterating the government’s commitment to complete and commission the best NYSC Orientation Camp within the next few weeks.

Mbanefo sharing the Anambra Model advised that NYSC should adopt a system already working in Anambra State by “creating a platform where the Corps Members can easily network, learn new skills and get access to funding which will enable them to become self-reliant.
The special recognition was delivered at the special meeting of NYSC Stakeholders with Representatives of the 36 State Governments at Abuja within the week.
