According to him, the suspect admitted defiling the girl when her mother, who sells food within the neighbourhood sent her on errand to Hammed’s home, where he forced the minor and defiled her.
Adaralewa said it took the quick response of the Anti HumanTrafficking and Child Protection Unit of the command to arrest the suspect at Popo area of Ibadan South West, on August 17, after the girl’s mother reported the case to NSCDC.
The commandant, however, appeals to parents and guardians to always protect their children, especially the female child to avoid falling victim to the wicked ones around.
He said the case would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation, and enjoined the public to always furnish the corps with credible information whenever they see anything unlawful in their vicinity.
“If you see something, always say something,” he added.
