The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra Command has advised its officers to maintain professionalism and diligence in carrying out their responsibilities throughout the 2023 Easter vacation.
This comes as the commander of the state command, Isidore Chikere, authorized the deployment of 1,077 (1077) officers to safeguard the safety of residents’ lives and property during the Easter celebration.
Chikere instructed agency men to show a high sense of accountability during the period, according to a statement acquired by Newsmen.

The officers and men dispatched are said to be from the agency’s Operations Department, Rapid Reaction Squad (RRS) Anti-vandalism Unit, and Special Female Squad.
During the Easter vacation, which begins this Friday, April 7th, security personnel are responsible with securing places of worship, recreational areas, and regions with high concentrations of people.
Commandant Chikere, who addressed today at the Command Headquarters in Awka, the state capital, reminded officers and men of the need of adhering to the Easter celebration operational order issued by the Commandant General of the NSCDC.
He also urged all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to conduct effective and rigorous patrols of their respective areas of responsibility in order to secure all Important National Assets and Infrastructure.

While congratulating members of the public on the commemoration of the crucifixion, death, and rising of Jesus Christ, Chikere urged religious leaders, worshippers, and citizens of the State to work with the NSCDC and other security agencies to ensure a smooth celebration.
The NSCDC chief also asked Christians to use the season to seek divine intervention in the nation’s affairs and to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ’s supreme sacrifice by abstaining from all types of political, social, and religious violence and vices.
