Nnewi Committee of Friends on Sunday, 25th August, 2019, elected new Executive officers to pilot the affairs of the association.
Nnewi Committee of Friends is an association which has the membership of individuals across different background, professions and other spheres of life.
Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, an electoral officer of the association, Hon. Emmanuel Unigwe, said that the election which saw the emergence of Hon. Ototodirina Azubike as the New President of the Association was transparent, credible and also was accepted by Fifty Four (54) members of the association.
Expressing his gratitude, the New President of Nnewi Committee of Friends, Hon. Ototodirina Azubike, thanked the members of the association for finding him worthy for such important position through their votes, and promised not to disappoint them.

He assured members of the association of his determination to ensure the unity of members of the association and also to ensure that the goals of the association is accomplished.
According to him, the association under his watch will also improve on welfare and social services to the larger Nnewi community and beyond, adding that the interest of the members of the association will always be protected.
Speaking after the election, a member of the Association, Hon. Barr. Obinna Ubah, commended the electoral officers for conducting a free and fair election, which was a secret ballot.
According to him, aside the office of the President and Welfare Officer, other candidates were elected unopposed.
As the pioneer Secretary of Nnewi Committee of Friends, Hon. Barr. Obinna Ubah emphasised on the need for unity among members of the association, which according to him, is very vital to the progress of the association. He advised the Newly Executive Committee, to unify the Association and avoid actions that tends to cause disunity.
According to Barr. Obinna Ubah, the following were elected in the following respective positions;

Hon. Ototodirna Azubike – President.
Barr. Nnamdi China – Vice President.
Hon. Kingsley Umeh – Secretary.
Mr. Nonso Amachukwu – Assistant Financial Secretary.
Mr. Ben Ohagwu – Financial Secretary.
Barr. Ikenna Ubezuonu – Welfare Officer.
Dr. Chima Ogum – Treasurer.
