The Special Thanksgiving Service for Consecration and Enthronement of Bishop Ndubuisi Obi held yesterday, Sunday 29th December 2019, at St. Marks Anglican Church, Nnewichi Nnewi.
It will be recalled that Ndubuisi Obi was elected as Bishop of Nnewi Diocese on Wednesday, 21st August 2019, and was consecrated as Bishop on Monday, 23rd September 2019. Ndubuisi Obi, Five Others, Consecrated As Anglican Bishops
He was enthroned as the second Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi on Friday, September 27th, 2019, replacing the retired Archbishop of Niger Province and Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, His Grace, The Most Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala (OON, JP).
Speaking during the Thanksgiving Service, Bishop Ndubuisi Obi, thanked God for finding him worthy of the prestigious elevation, which he described as a call to service.

Expressing gratitude to God for his elevation, mercies, grace and love upon his life, he took the congregation down the memory lane on he started his life and ministry at a very challenging time of his life.
He highlighted the roles his parents Rev. Canon Abel Okwuchukwu and Mrs. Ezinne Jane, Obi, played in his life while growing up.
He spoke about his life-changing encounter in 1989, when he gave his life to Jesus Christ, the different roles he played in the development of the Church, especially in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Omgba Onitsha.
Bishop Ndubuisi Obi, also spoke passionately about the very important roles Bishop Ken Okeke (Retired) and the present Bishop of Niger Diocese, Bishop Owen Nwokolo, played in his life before and after he became a priest.

Bishop Ndubuisi Obi did not also hide his feelings towards the great role the Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Dr. Prosper Amah, who is also a son of Nnewi, played in the process that led to his election as the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese.
Preaching during the service, the Bishop on the Niger, His Lordship, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo urged Nnewi Diocese to give their full support to the New Bishop who he described as very passionate for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the development of the Church.
He said that the opportunity of becoming a Bishop is a real privilege, which offers one the opportunity to serve, change and influence decisions both in the church and the larger community.
He described Bishop Ndubuisi Obi as a very intelligent, full of wisdom, researcher and a born leader, saying that his episcopacy will bring a great transformation in Nnewi Diocese.

He, however, urged Nnewi Community to give their full support to the New Bishop, noting that God has called him for a serious assignment.
