The people of the South have been urged not to worry about the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State (APC).
This was said by Akeredolu on Wednesday during the swearing-in of two new commissioners at the Governor’s Office in the state capital of Akure’s Alagbaka neighborhood.
He advised Southerners not to be concerned about the same-faith ticket, pointing out that the region’s governors had pushed for the South to be given the presidency in 2023.

In 2023, Akereolu asked Nigerians especially Southerners to vote for ability and performance rather than faith.
The governor argued that it is the Presidential candidate that the people would vote for and that the work stops on the president’s table
“Let’s vote for someone that can do something. The work stops on the table of the President. It is the President that you are voting for. He decides what happens. Whether it’s a Muslim/Muslim or Christian/Christian, it should not matter to us in the South because we fought for this.
“I have no doubt that given the opportunity from what he has done in Lagos, Asiwaju Tinubu will turn things around for better,” he said.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, there have been conflicting reactions to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s pick of Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
While some organizations and people have criticized the move to hire a Muslim as disrespectful to Christians, others have backed it.
