Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has dismissed criticisms by opposition parties regarding his performance in office in the past seven years. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, and the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, had described the Obiano administration as a disaster.

Arsenal reached the Europa League quarter-finals despite suffering a 1-0 loss to Olympiakos in the second leg on Thursday, while Mislav Orsic scored a brilliant hat-trick as Dinamo Zagreb knocked out Tottenham Hotspur after extra time. Youssef El-Arabi’s deflected second-half strike earned Olympiakos another victory at the Emirates but Arsenal advanced 3-2 on aggregate, avenging their exit to the Greeks on away goals last season.

The Arewa Youth Assembly, AYA, has given Mr. Sunday Igboho 72 hours to move his Yoruba people from the north or be forced to take necessary actions by personally taking the responsibility of getting them back home. The group explained, “We are hereby giving him the ultimatum of 72 hours to move his people out or we will be forced to take necessary actions by personally taking the responsibility of getting his people back home.”

The South Saharan Social Development Organization (SSDO), has applauded the Enugu State House of Assembly for stepping down the proposed bill on life pension for ex-governors, deputies, and their spouses. The Executive Director of SSDO, Stanley Ilechukwu, gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Thursday.

The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnmadi Kanu Thursday backed the formation of Biafra Government as canvassed by the former Niger Delta warlord Mujahid Asari Dokubo saying it is not a threat to IPOB. Dokubo had few days ago declared himself as the Head of Biafra de facto Customary Government (BCG).
