Raheem Sterling has opened up about speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid, labelling the Spanish giants a ‘fantastic club’ but claiming he plans to stay at Manchester City after a photoshoot where he held both teams’ shirts.
His current side are set to go head to head with Real in the Champions League last 16 in what should be a bumper clash between two European heavyweights.
There is now an added incentive for City top, with this year potentially being the last time for the next two seasons that they could win the competition after being slapped with a UEFA ban for financial fair play breaches.
The club insist they will fight the ruling but, inevitably, it has led to speculation about whether manager Pep Guardiola and their top stars will stick around if they are not playing in the Champions League.
Sterling is no different and has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Bernabeu.

His agent Aidy Ward recently insisted that the forward would not be going anywhere but, in an interview with Spanish publication AS, Sterling appeared to tease the move.
When asked if he would like to play for Real, he responded: “How do I answer that one? Is the camera live or is it just taking pictures?
“No one knows what the future will hold. I am a player and I am always open to challenges but right now my challenge is at City and I’m really happy. I have a contract with City now and I have to respect this.
“Real Madrid are a fantastic club. When you see the white shirt you know exactly what the club stands for, it’s massive.
