Okwesilieze Nwodo, a former governor of Enugu State, has stated that unemployment is the South East region’s most serious concern.
Nwodo made the revelation while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily show on Monday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
Another issue plaguing the region, according to the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is the lack of genuine dialogue with the young.

To keep young people occupied, Nwodo recommended several state governments in the zone to invite them to dialogue and generate job possibilities.
The former governor went on to say that adolescents in the South-East felt marginalized by both the federal and state governments, and he urged officials to act.
He stated the leaders in the region lack the political will to implement blueprints recommended by different committees to end the crisis in the zone.
Nwodo said: “The biggest problem we have is unemployment. Massive unemployment even of graduates.
“The second thing is the absence of sincere dialogue with the young people. Apart from the fact that they have no jobs, they feel extremely marginalised.
