Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, and Chief Ayiri Emami are said to have patched up their differences during a private meeting.
The meeting between the two Itsekiri leaders was place behind closed doors on Friday night at the royal palace in Warri, Delta state, according to information obtained by newsmen.
Remember that Chief Ayiri, then the Ologbotsere, had contested the methods used to produce the Olu of Warri, arguing that the new ruler lacked the qualifications necessary to hold the throne.

But since his accession to the throne, the Olu of Warri has continued to rule without an Ologbotsere in his newly assembled council of chiefs.
According to sources who spoke to Vanguard, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, a famous Itsekiri and the former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), was in charge of the peace meeting.
According to one of the sources, the monarch invited Ayiri to the peace parley and said that the meeting would be expanded and include certain chiefs at a later time at the palace.
Another source claimed that when the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, visited Warri a few months ago, he also held separate meetings with Chief Ayiri and the Olu of Warri.
The Vanguard was informed by a chief inside the palace that there had been multiple interventions.

“Well, we have been having a persistent intervention by many well meaning Nigerians, including the Ooni of Ife and Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, hence the current situation,” the chief, who does not want to be named, said.
Spokesman of Ologbotsere descendants, Mr Alex Eyengho, also on the meeting, said: “As the spokesperson of Ologbotsere Descendants Worldwide, I can confirm to you that the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayiri Emami, honoured the invitation extended to him by the Olu of Warri.
“The meeting held Friday with some chiefs and other Itsekiri nobles in attendance.
“It is all part of efforts to unite the Itsekiri People, Land and Crown (Itsekiri PLC). I can also confirm to you that crititical stakeholders of the Ologbotsere Descendants will meet today, Saturday, to carry out a postmortem of the Friday meeting before a follow-up rendezvous on Sunday at the palace.
“I cannot say more than this at this point. It is hoped that the peace deal will bring an end to the differences.”
