The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been given an operable television broadcasting license by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
The NYSC would begin Direct Satellite Broadcasting and Internet Protocol Television with the license.
On Wednesday, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, the Director-General of the NYSC, got the broadcast license from his NBC counterpart, Mallam Balarabe Ilela, in Abuja.

Ilela said the permission will allow the Federal Government to “convey the NYSC narrative; notably its amazing successes to the rest of the globe.”He said that the NYSC, as one of Yakubu Gowon’s outstanding achievements, had fulfilled its goal of unifying the country in a variety of ways while also contributing significantly to national growth.
“The commission typically grants licenses in trust,” Ilela explained, “and we anticipate this will be used for the purpose for which it was granted. We are ecstatic to be a part of your growth. We’re certain that our license is in good hands with someone like you.”
He did say, though, that the NYSC radio license was in the works.
The NBC Director-General also took the opportunity to congratulate the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps on his recent elevation to Major General.
