The two-day statewide strike by Organised Labour, which is made up of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has been suspended.
Anaedoonline.ng is aware that the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, intervened during a combined National Executive Council (NEC) meeting and the leadership of the TUC and NLC decided to stop the industrial action.
Following negotiations with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, the NEC decided to call off the strike.

The NEC meeting, which started a little after 7 o’clock at night, lasted about an hour during which time a number of affiliates and state chapters evaluated the conclusions of the discussion between Ribadu and the leaders of organised labour.
This was confirmed to The PUNCH by the National Deputy Vice-President of the TUC, Tommy Etim, in an interview.
“The NEC of the NLC and the TUC have suspended the strike. We did this based on our trust for the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who gave us his words,” he said.
