This weekend’s 2023 BET Awards will include a posthumous homage to the legendary Tina Turner.
According to a BET press release, Patti LaBelle will pay tribute to the late superstar with a performance during the awards ceremony that would “capture the essence of Turner’s unparalleled legacy.”
According to CNN, Turner passed away last month at the age of 83 in her home close to Zurich, Switzerland. Several more influential entertainers will be honored at this year’s BET Awards.

At the ceremony, Busta Rhymes will get the lifetime achievement award. Bia, Coi Leray, Cutty Ranks, Dexta Daps, M.O.P., Rah Digga, ScarLip, Spice, Supercat, Swizz Beatz, and others will perform to honor Rhymes and his career.
Past lifetime achievement award recipients have included Whitney Houston, Prince, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Samuel Jackson, Lionel Richie and New Edition.
