Former presidential candidate, Professor Kingsley Moghalu joined other Africans, and Nigerians in particular, in celebrating A-list artistes Wizkid and Burnaboy for their feat at the recently concluded Grammy-award event.
Burna Boy who was nominated for the second consecutive year, won the Best Global Music Album category while Wizkid won the Best Music Video for his song with Beyoncé; Brown Skin Girl, from Lion King: The Gift album.
The 63rd Grammy Awards was held in Los Angeles, USA. Often described as “music’s biggest night”, this year’s ceremony was different because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Reacting to the news, the political leader said, “Burna Boy and Wizkid have made Nigeria and Africa proud. This honour shows the level of talent the youth in Nigeria have. I believe others will look at this and draw motivation to strive to be the best in every area of their endeavours”.
Here is a list of winners in categories at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, which were handed out on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Beyonce had a big night, winning four prizes and thereby breaking the record for the most-ever Grammy wins by a female artist, and the most by any singer, male or female.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion also had a successful evening, taking home three awards including Best New Artist and pop powerhouse Taylor Swift won Album of the Year honors for the third time in her career.

Song of the Year, for songwriting: H.E.R., Dernst Emile II, and Tiara Thomas, “I Can’t Breathe”
