According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, 87,209,007 Permanent Voter Cards have been gathered across the country.
Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of INEC, confirmed the development on Thursday at a media briefing at the national collation centre in Abuja.
Notwithstanding the fact that the number grew after the Commission extended the deadline from January 29 to February 5.
