According to news reports, Ali Ndume and Olamilekan recommended Godswill Akpabio for the nation’s third position, while Elisha Abbo and Jimoh Ibrahim nominated Abdulaziz Yari.
Following Yari’s nomination, there was a screaming match, with some senators-elect claiming that the former Zamfara State governor is unqualified to run.
