Victor Osimhen has confirmed his readiness to welcome back Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo back to the Super Eagles if the striker wants to return.
There have been talks of Victor Osimhen returning to the Super Eagles since he joined Manchester United in January in which the player has not made a statement on it.
Odion Ighalo decided to hang his international boots after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where Nigeria finished as third best in the championship.
He finished as the highest goal scorer in the tournament with fives goals before he quit the Super Eagles. And since he stepped out, Victor Osimhen has been leading Super Eagles attack and has been impressive even before Ighalo retired.
Speaking about the possibility of Odion Ighalo returning to the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen explained that he will be glad to see him return.
“He is always welcome, he contributed a lot for the National team and even at the Afcon in 2019, whether I am playing or I’m on the bench, watching him from the side will also help me learn a lot from him.
I have no problem with it at all. “Ighalo is a very good forward and inspirational player, not just for Nigeria but also for the footballing world.
I draw some inspiration from him,” Osimhen told ojbsport.com. Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo vowed that he will walk off the pitch if he gets any form of racial abuse again in his career and the referee does nothing about it.
The Sporting Director of Napoli, Cristiano Giuntoli has explained why it would be difficult for the club to sign Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen this summer transfer window.
Cristiano said Osimhen and some other players he mentioned are highly sought after by other bigger clubs thereby making Napoli move almost impossible.
Napoli has in recent weeks shown interest in the Nigerian striker. Other European clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United are reportedly eying the 21-year-old following his exploits in France.
