UPDATE ON THE HOUSE-GULPING EROSION SITE IN NNEWI ANAMBRA STATE

Nnewichi Nnewi erosion site has been a thing of concern for the entire Nnewi Community since the erosion claimed properties and some economic trees in that part of Nnew, it has also obstructed buisnesses.

However, respite may have come to the people of Nnewichi as work has been ongoing at the erosion which is geared towards eradicating the erosion completely.

Recall that Anaedoonline.com reported that World Bank visited the erosion site to ascertain how the project was going on the erosion site and the pace at which it was going.

Anaedoonline.com this morning 4th April 2019 spoke with the erosion site project coordinator, Mr. Chieloka Ubajekwe to find out the current state of work on the site, he responded that the work is going on fine inspite of some unavoidable delays.

According to Mr Ubajekwe , “we are not experiencing any challenges or difficulties. The site is at the concrete stage and all the materials needed for this stage are already supplied to the workers and they at the site now. The workers themselves are really working hard and they show up everyday.”

When asked if the Project will be concluded within the stipulated timeframe, Mr. Ubajekwe wasn’t optimistic , he said, “Even though the stipulated time for the project completion was two years, starting from 2018, I’m afraid the time might have to be extended because we encountered some delays on this project, but overall, work is going on fine.”
