Bola Tinubu was accused by Hon. Yusuf Shittu Galambi of the NNPP of bringing a blank cheque appropriations bill to the National Assembly for the 2024 fiscal year.
According to Galambi, who spoke with BBC Hausa, Tinubu’s presentation consisted of “empty papers for the photo ops,” implying that there was no breakdown of sectoral allocation, especially for vital areas like health and education.

Galambi said that Tinubu’s purported breakdown of sectoral allocations was only an empty box. He accused the National Assembly’s leadership of covering up for the government, calling into question their willingness to work with the government to intentionally mislead the plenary.
“If anyone believes they are lying against Tinubu, let him produce a copy of the detailed sectoral allocation,” Galambi said, posing a challenge to anyone who had doubts about the allegations.
He underlined the need of openness, saying that they have not started discussions yet because they are still expecting the sectoral distribution data.
