Alhaji Nasiru Na’ayya, a well-known merchant in Gangarbi Village of the Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, was abducted by gunmen early on Monday.
An eyewitness who is related to the victim and who confirmed the occurrence claimed that the burglars broke into the businessman’s home on Monday about midnight.
He claimed that as soon as they arrived at the house, they began firing randomly into the air, drawing the neighbours’ attention.
“When residents of the area attempted to prevent the gunmen from going with the victim, they shot two people, which led to the death of one instantly and another was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” the eyewitness added.

When contacted, the spokesman for the state police command, SP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the incident saying he was waiting for the Divisional Police Officer from the area to give him details.
He promised to get across to our correspondent as soon as he gets the details.
He had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
