The state police command has paraded Babangida Isah, 20, of Tike Quarters, Bajoga, in the Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl.
The victim’s father, Yahaya Isah, reportedly told police that the culprit lured his daughter behind an Almajiri school before raping her, according to state police public relations officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar.
“The suspect, Isah, was arrested after receiving the complaint, and he freely confessed to the crime,” added Abubakar.
The victim and the suspect were both taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. The matter will be heard in court soon.‘

While warning paedophilia who derived pleasure in defiling minors, Abubakar said the command would continue to prosecute criminals in the state.
“The Commissioner of Police, Oqua Etim, commends the effort of the detectives attached to the Bajoga division who were involved in the investigation for their swift action and dedication to duty.
“He assures the public of the command’s readiness to ensure the safety and security of all citizens. They are to report any suspicious activities and cooperate with the police in their efforts to maintain peace and order in the community,” the police spokesman added.
