Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and member representing Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency, Hon Patrick Asadu, have described as peaceful the ongoing Local Government (LG) polls in Enugu state.
Ugwuanyi who voted in his Orba polling unit in Udenu Local at exactly 11:03 am, said the process reflects the peace loving nature of citizens in the state.
Addressing newsmen shortly after voting in his Comunity Primary School Ajuona polling unit in Igbo Eze South Local Government at exactly 10.30 Asadu said the process is peaceful because the state itself is peaceful.
He said the governor who believes in the development of the grassroots level made adequate arrangement to ensure that the process was hitch just like the national and state elections.
“Enugu LG polls are very important just like the national and state elections because governance begins at the grassroots level. If we dknt get it right here, it will be difficult for us” he said.

He said the People’s Democratic party, PDP has campaigned in all the LGs in the state and has also entered into contracts with the people.
“The governor has made the state a one party state because of how he has succeeded in bringing people together in peace” he said.
According to the presiding officer, Eze Oliver, electoral materials arrived at the unit by 8am while voting started at exactly 9 am.
