Onyekamma maintained that no well-meaning individual will subscribe to this unfounded allegations against his person, involving in 270m naira scam, saying that his sole motive was to ensure that members were able to use their official cars to carry out legislative and committee functions as provided by the law.
It could be recalled that the Imo State House Of Assembly Deputy Speaker was alleged to have been involved in a multi-million naira scam, pocketed 270m naira after supplying refurbished vehicles to Honourables in Imo State House Of Assembly.
Deputy Speaker denied these baseless allegations on Wednesday while responding to questions from newsmen in Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
According to him, “I did not procure the vehicles neither do I know the vendor/supplier.
In all, what I did was to ensure that members who have consistently complained to me about their vehicles got theirs to effectively carry out their functions and nothing else”
if any supplied vehicle is reported bad, then the bank and supplier should be notified and appropriate actions taken immediately.
Barrister Onyekamma challenged those behind these Allegations to be factual with their criticisms, or face the wrath of the law.
While describing the allegations as not only empty and hollow but laced with envy, witch-hunting and backbiting, calling on the public to disregard it and View it as part of their antics to push his precious name to wall.
