The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has donated hand sanitizers to the Enugu state government as part of its support in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.
While making the donation at the state ministry of Health, the EEDC Head of Communication, Emeka Ezeh, said the gesture was part of their cooperate social responsibility.
Emeka Eze used the medium to commend the effort of the state government in tackling the pandemic in the state.
He also announced that the EEDC will ensure the provision of steady power supply to all the designated isolation centers in the state.
On his part, EEDC Head, Health, Safety and Environment, Francis Iwu said the gesture was replicated in Anambra, Ebonyi, Imo and Abia states.
Iwu noted that each of the five states got about sixty cartons, seven hundred and twenty pieces, of five hundred milligram hand sanitizers from EEDC.
Receiving the hand sanitizers, the Permanent Secretary, Enugu state ministry of Health, Ifeanyi Agujiobi said the gesture will help health workers in the discharge of their duties.

Anaedoonline.com reported that the Nigeria Center For Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 17 new Coronavirus infections with the two states of Anambra and Niger recording their first cases.
The 17 new Coronavirus cases are eight in Lagos, three in Katsina, two in FCT, and one each in Niger, Kaduna, Anambra, and Ondo States.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria jumps to 305 with 19 of the 36 states now affected by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed that there are 58 discharged COVID-19 patients in Nigeria. This follows the successful treatment and recovery of seven more cases in Lagos State.
According to NCDC, Lagos state has the highest number of coronavirus with 164 confirmed cases. Abuja (FCT) 56, Osun 20, Edo 12, Oyo 11,Ogun 7, Bauch 6, Kaduna 6, Akwa Ibom 5, Kastina 4, Enugu 2, Ekiti 2, Rivers 2, Kwara 2, Delta 2, Ondo 2, Benue 1, Niger 1 and Anambra state 1 case.
